This Sunday – Wisdom: Humble confidence in Jesus
In our series in 1 Corinthians we arrive at a humbling and astonishing passage – 1 Corinthians 2:6-16. It is full of some of the most spectacular and wonderful realities about being a Christian. Things so amazing that we wouldn’t believe them, if God hadn’t written them in the Bible. Read ahead in Isaiah 40 more…
By what standard?
As much as Christians might be tempted to get angry over the claims of the New Atheists, there is much that is fruitful in the debate. It forces believers to carefully and rigorously examine ‘why I believe?’. It also helps us understand where other people are coming from. Below is a link to an excerpt from a more…
May 13th – the foolish power of the cross
The death of Jesus is foolish, weak and even plain ridiculous to those who don’t follow Jesus. Do you agree? How could that be possible? How could it even be possible that God intends for it to be that way? What was God thinking? 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5 (plus Isaiah 29:13-14 and Jeremiah 9:23-24). Listen to more…

Easter messages
This Easter we celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus from Luke 23-24. We saw that Jesus offered forgiveness and salvation from the cross. It wasn’t wishful thinking or false comfort but it was his plan all along. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. We saw that rather than being gullible and easily more…
